J2 Wedding October 9, 2015
The happiest day ever for the two of us! A ton of work coordinating what will probably be the biggest event of our lives, but worth it to see the beautiful results. It truly is a day we will never forget celebrating with family and friends. An amazing day for sure! Coming from very conservative families, Josh and I decided to go with a casual garden party in lieu of a traditional wedding. The setting was the Valley Garden Center. The theme was a merging of interests near and dear - Broadway, travel, food and wine! Tables were scattered about featuring various Broadway shows and wines that somewhat matched the theme. We did have to get creative, but it all came together perfectly. The garden was lit with mason jar candles which cast star/crystal shaped patterns throughout the garden. We were married under an ancient olive tree and a giant telescoping lamp brought from our home to provide light. Surrounded by family and friends it truly was a magical evening. The amazing dinner prepared by chef Donovan Rainbolt featured a beautiful assortment of cicchetti. This may sound a little odd for a wedding, but it definitely was in keeping with the casual garden theme. Delicacies included turkey and filet mignon sliders, scallops, lobster shooters, and some incredibly beautiful caprese skewers in little boats made out of leaves. The live entertainment was provided by acoustic guitarist Carol Pallatte, with the theme song being Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time. It was a magical evening for Josh and I. But when the evening came to an end we realized we really hadn't even taken tiime to have a real meal - so our wedding dinner was Denny's at 2:00 AM!
