Venezia - Venice

Whomever said, "Venice is best approached by sea" (maybe millions of people!) definitely knew what they were talking about.  On my first trip I arrived by train as I was coming from Florence.  I recall the long bridge crossing the lagoon, entry into the Santa Lucia train station, and then bam - there I was facing the Grand Canal!  It was like sort of like arriving in San Francisco by BART.  You miss the amazing view of the city.  On this trip, Josh and I opted for ashared water taxi which is an adventure unto itself.  You have a full view of the city and the island of Murano as you fly and bounce across the lagoon in a high speed boat.  The taxi comes to a crawl as you approach the city, with the ancient walls slowly surrounding you as you make your way into the world of mystery that is Venice.  Being his first time here, Josh's head nearly flew off his body as he attempted to to take it all in.  A few moments later we were traveling the magnificent Grand Canal to our final destination.  The water taxis have luxurious wood paneled and leather interiors, so you really do feel like you are arriving in style, even after an incredibly long flight in the crappy coach seats.

Being one of the most iconic and photographed city in the world, I will not go into great detail on our time spent in Venice, but I did want to share a few thoughts/suggestions.  The following is placeholder text known as “lorem ipsum,” which is scrambled Latin used by designers to mimic real copy.
